Aegis is for people documenting a home after a night shift, on an older phone, with tired eyes, and with no insurance vocabulary. If you can't read it or reach it, it isn't finished.
Two settings below change how the entire site looks for you. They save in this browser and stay on until you switch them off.
Reading settings
Makes every word on the site bigger, headings and body together, without breaking the layout.
Darkens text, removes soft tinted backgrounds and draws a thick outline around whatever you have selected.
Read Aegis in your language
Pick a language and the site stays that way on this device. Legal documents and prices stay in English.

What is already built in
- You can use the whole site with a keyboard. Tab moves, Enter opens, Escape closes.
- Buttons that are only an icon carry a spoken label, so a screen reader says what they do.
- Pages use real headings and page landmarks, so you can jump straight to the main content.
- Buttons and links are big enough to hit with a thumb on a phone.
- We never use color alone to tell you something. There is always a word or an icon too.
- Photos you add are yours to describe. Nothing is required to be a certain size or quality.
- The walkthrough video is silent and captioned, and every step is also written out in text.
What we are still improving
We aim at the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. We have not paid for an outside audit yet, so we will not display an accessibility certification badge.
Some deeper screens — the 3D room view and a few charts — still need better text alternatives. They are on the list, and nothing important is only available there.
We test with keyboard navigation, browser zoom and mobile screen readers. We do not yet test with every assistive tool that exists.
Plain language is a feature, not a courtesy
- Short sentences. No insurance jargon you have to look up.
- One task per screen — add a room, add an item, done.
- Nothing is hidden behind a word like “schedule” or “endorsement” without an explanation next to it.
- You can stop in the middle and pick it back up. Nothing is lost.
Cost and access
- The free plan documents a real room, not a teaser.
- No appraiser, no inspector and no paid helper is required to use Aegis.
- It works on the phone you already own, and your home file can be exported or deleted whenever you want.

If any part of Aegis is hard to read, hard to reach or hard to understand, email us and say so in your own words. Tell us the page and the device if you can. We answer within one business day.
If the interface itself is the barrier, we will help you by email — including getting your home file documented or exported — rather than leaving you stuck.
