Privacy Policy
You are trusting us with photographs of everything you own. This describes exactly what happens to them.
What we collect
Account data: your email address, and the display name and avatar you choose. If you sign in with Google or Apple we receive the basic profile they release — we never see your password for those accounts.
Home file data: the rooms, items, values, serial numbers, purchase dates, warranties, notes, policy limits and documents you enter or upload.
Billing data: handled by our payment processor. We store the resulting subscription status, plan and renewal date. We never see or store your full card number.
Operational data: standard server logs and error reports used to keep the service running and secure.
How your data is protected
All traffic runs over TLS. Your database rows and uploaded files are stored encrypted at rest.
Access is scoped to your account at the database level, not just in the app: row-level security rules mean another signed-in user cannot list or read your rooms, items or documents.
Uploaded files live in a private bucket with no public URLs. Viewing a document issues a short-lived signed link that expires on its own.
We have not completed a SOC 2, ISO 27001 or HIPAA audit and we do not claim to be certified against any of those frameworks.
Who can see your home file
You can. So can any family member you deliberately add on a plan that supports shared access.
A realtor, broker or other partner who gifted you Aegis sees their own banner on your dashboard and whether the code was redeemed. They cannot see your rooms, items, values, receipts or documents unless you explicitly send them something, such as a valuation request or a coverage-gap breakdown.
A small number of our engineers can access production systems where strictly necessary to operate the service, investigate a fault, or comply with the law. We do not browse customer home files.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or broker your inventory, documents or personal information. We do not share it with insurers, data brokers or advertisers, and we take no insurer commissions.
We do not use your photographs or documents to train third-party AI models.
Service providers we rely on
We use a small set of processors to run Aegis: a cloud database and file storage provider, an authentication provider, a payment processor, and error-monitoring and email delivery services. Each handles data only on our instructions and only as needed to deliver their part of the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your home file for as long as your account exists, because that is the point of the product.
You can delete any item, document or room at any time. Deleting a document removes the stored file, not just the record pointing at it.
Deleting your account removes your profile, rooms, items, documents and stored files from the live service. Encrypted backups roll off on their own schedule within 30 days. Limited billing records are retained where tax law requires it.
To request deletion or a copy of your data, email support@aegishome.app from your account address.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for anything else, contact us and we will action it.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Cookies
We use cookies and local storage for sign-in sessions and basic preferences. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Changes and contact
If we make a material change to this policy we will notify account holders. Questions or concerns: support@aegishome.app.
