Terms of Service
Plain-language terms for using Aegis. Please read section 1 and section 8 in particular.
1. Who we are and what Aegis is
Aegis is operated by Daquan Group, LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“Daquan Group”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Daquan Group, LLC.
Aegis is a software service for cataloging the contents of your home, storing supporting documents, and preparing exports you can give to an insurer or adjuster.
Aegis is not an insurance company, agency, broker or adjuster. We do not sell insurance, underwrite risk, adjust losses or pay claims. Nothing in the product is coverage, legal or financial advice, and no output guarantees that a claim will be accepted or paid.
Aegis performs no escrow, custody, trust-account or payment service and holds no money-transmitter or escrow-agent licence. Contractor payout milestones are a record-keeping tool: we never receive, hold, release or transfer your funds, and every payment leaves your own bank, card or carrier disbursement.
Aegis is not a life-safety, alarm or monitoring system and does not control home devices. Freeze and hazard alerts are informational notifications drawn from public National Weather Service data; Aegis cannot close a water valve, does not receive leak-sensor events, and must not be relied on to prevent loss, injury or property damage.
2. Your account
You must provide accurate sign-up details and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. One account is for one household unless you are on a plan that explicitly includes additional members.
You must be at least 18 years old to create, hold or use an Aegis account, and you must confirm your age at sign-up. If we learn an account holder is under 18 we will close the account and delete its contents.
3. Your content
You keep ownership of everything you upload — photographs, documents, values and notes. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store, process and display that content back to you, and to generate the exports you request.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, and for the accuracy of the values you record.
4. Plans, billing and refunds
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor. Renewals continue until you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
Money-back guarantee: if a new paid subscription is not what you expected, email support@aegishome.life within 14 days of your first charge on that subscription and we will refund it in full. The guarantee applies once per account, to the first paid charge, and does not cover renewal charges, the one-time Emergency Recovery Pass, or subscription months granted through a partner gift code.
The one-time Emergency Recovery Pass grants full access for 30 days and does not renew.
Chargebacks: if you dispute an Aegis charge with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us, we will permanently close the account and permanently flag it, which prevents that person from opening a new Aegis account or starting a future subscription. A closed and flagged account enters the 30-day export window described in section 9, after which its home file, stored files and login are permanently deleted. Refunds are always available directly from us under the money-back guarantee above, so a dispute is never necessary — email support@aegishome.life first. We may present our account, billing and usage records to the card network as evidence in a dispute.
If a charge is clearly a mistake on our side, contact us and we will fix it.
5. Free plan limits and feature gating
The free plan is limited to one room and 5 items. If those limits change, data you already cataloged is preserved — you will not lose items because a limit moved.
If a paid plan lapses you keep read access to your existing home file and can still export it; adding new content beyond the free limits requires an active plan.
6. Partner gift codes
Realtors, brokers and other partners may give you a code that unlocks a period of Aegis Pro. Redeeming a code links a partner's branding and contact details to your dashboard. It does not give the partner access to your rooms, items, values or documents.
You can ask us to unlink a partner at any time.
7. Acceptable use
Do not upload unlawful content, attempt to access another user's data, probe or disrupt the service, scrape it, or resell access without a written agreement with us.
We may suspend accounts that put other customers' data or the service at risk.
8. Availability and limitation of liability
We work to keep Aegis available and your data intact, but the service is provided as-is without warranties of uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable — exports exist for exactly that reason.
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for denied or reduced insurance claims, indirect losses, or lost profits.
9. Cancellation and deletion
You can delete individual items, documents, rooms or your entire account from within the app.
Whenever a paid plan ends — because you cancelled, because a renewal payment was not recovered, because you asked us to close the account, or because a charge was disputed — a 30-day export window opens and we show you a countdown in the app. Exports stay available for the whole window.
If the plan simply ended (you cancelled, or a payment lapsed), nothing is destroyed at the end of the window: the account becomes a permanent read-only archive. Your rooms, items, documents and exports remain readable indefinitely, but new content beyond the free limits and paid features stay locked until you resubscribe.
If you asked us to close the account, or if a charge was disputed with your bank, the account is scheduled for permanent deletion at the end of the 30 days. At that point your home file, your stored vault files and your login are deleted and cannot be recovered, and a new account would have to be created from scratch. You can cancel a scheduled deletion yourself at any point during the 30 days; a deletion caused by a chargeback cannot be cancelled.
We may terminate an account for a material breach of these terms, and will give notice where we reasonably can.
10. Changes and contact
If we make a material change to these terms we will notify account holders. Continuing to use Aegis after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
